Clarkson University's Help Yourself Program

Clarkson University will soon begin a fantastic year-long opportunity for Lawrence Avenue Third Graders. The Help Yourself Academy provides engaging activities involving science and technology while pairing students with college mentors. The program is intended to help foster an interest in the sciences, encourage learning, motivation to achieve, and nurture children’s aspirations to attend college. The Academy sessions will be held on Mondays, here at Lawrence Ave. in room 196 (Mrs. Flynn’s room) from 3:15 – 4:15.

Help Yourself Academy sessions will begin in mid October and continue throughout the year. Academy sessions will be held on Mondays, and once classes begin, you will receive a calendar listing all of the session dates (taking into account the college schedule.) Students will come to room 196 right after dismissal for the sessions. Afterward, they will be walked to the parent pick up area or taken to the late bus, which will be available to students if transportation is needed.
