Birthday Celebrations

Inclusion is a fundamental value that Lawrence Avenue Elementary holds dear. We believe every child deserves to feel welcomed, appreciated, and cherished. Beginning this year, the main office will celebrate and acknowledge each child’s birthday.

Announcement Recognition: All children’s birthdays will be announced during morning announcements. Children whose birthday falls on the weekend or summer will be acknowledged during the weekly announcement before their special day.

Visit to the Main Office: Your child will have the opportunity to visit the main office on their birthday. There, they will:

- Receive a birthday pencil
- Receive a book of their choice
- Have their picture taken and shared on our Lawrence Avenue Facebook page

Birthday treats are not required. However, if you choose to send in a birthday snack for your child to share, please be mindful of food allergies and dietary restrictions of others. Only individually wrapped, purchased goods are allowed to be shared.

We encourage parents to celebrate birthdays with their child outside of school hours. In the spirit of inclusivity, we kindly request that party invitations and any related materials not be handed out during school hours.
